Event Table supporting combined conditions

Post by ScottHorn »

I would like to be able to set multiple conditions for one event in the event table. For example, change the position of a valve based on time and detector signal level, or based on two detectors (ie if detector 1's signal is greater than x, and detector 2's signal is less than y, then execute a specified event). Also, it would be convenient to be able to set a list of events to be considered sequentially, as opposed to simultaneously. For example, in a list of events, once the first event takes place, it does not take place again, even if the conditions that caused it are met again. Instead the system would ignore the first event and wait for the conditions for the next event to be met, and so on. The reason for this is because I'm using clarity to do prep scale immuno-affinity chromatography. We change the positions of three different valves based on signals from UV and pH detectors. One run can be up to 8 hours long, and over that time any signal conditions for events are met multiple times. However, there is no way that I can find to differentiate between a condition at the beginning of the run which should cause one event, and the same condition at the end of the run which should cause another event.

Re: Event Table supporting combined conditions

We will consider this, however it will mean a rather big changes in the Event table.

Currently you could try to use the FC GP (General Purpose Fraction Collector) module - it will enable you to specify time windows in which the peak detection will be performed. For details. please check

Another way is to combine the digital outputs to get the desired and/or logic by wiring them in series or paralel.
