We are currently planning to add other pumps to be controlled using the Universal LC Control module.
The pump has to be controlled by text commands sent through COM port and must be able to change the flow (and composition for gradient pumps) on the fly by external command (opposed to pumps that accept only the whole gradient program at once). The protocol must be available.

Let us know if have one, or if you have a good tip.

Dear Petr,

I would like to suggest Varian pumps, like SD-1, ProStar 210/218, or
Rainin SD-200, SD-300, HPXL, or their older brother, Rabbit HPX, with
similar features to Gilson pumps families. The protocol is known and
presented in the pump manuals.

As far as I remember we did not have the protocols for these pumps. I had a brief look at their website to find these protcols but without success. Can you point me to a place where these protocols can be found, or share these protocols?
If the pumps are communicating over COM and controlled by ASCII commands, they can be quite easily controlled by the universal LC driver. Pumps with binary protocols need much more time to develop.

If it will be possible to use the LC UNI module, would you like to help with its development? E.g. testing?

Are there any other users of these pumps in the conference? Vote for your pump.

I am attaching SD-300/200 partial manual in PDF format. I think, these
pumps and HPLX pumps have the same serial boards inside. HPX pumps are
a little different. I will send information about their protocol
later.

I am interested in testing your software with the pumps. They deserve
the effort. Since the original Mac-based control software was phased
out long time ago, there are others interested in their deployment
using modern software. Mechanically, and perhaps electronically, they
are similar to Gilson 305-307 family.

it looks exactly as that what we need to make the appropriate profile. We will make a closer inspection and try to prepare the profile.

We will contact you outside the conference regarding the eventual testing.
