Is there anyone who has experience with OPC server communication with Clarity? Or is this possible with the export function?

Dear Kirsten,

we guess you probably mean "Open Platform Communications" aka "OLE for Process Control" [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Plat ... unications] or specifically "OPC Data Access" [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OPC_Data_Access], is that correct?

The current version of Clarity cannot act as an OPC server and cannot connect to an OPC server. Please could you let us know for which purpose you consider to use it?

Hello Ivan,

This is for our online-HPLC that we want to offer to production labs in chemical and biopharmaceutical process. Most of those production environments have some sort of control room and especially for biopharma the Process Analytical Technology(PAT) principle is more and more implemented (because FDA has written a guideline about this in 2004). The idea about PAT is that all data from within a process is gathered into one central place where process engineers can detect problems or can improve the process instead of having all the data in different softwares and interfaces.

I think most OPC servers have the possibility to work with export files in csv, but it would be nicer (and more compliant to FDA) if there was a possibility to bridge between Clarity and an OPC server.
