Operational Qualification

I am trying to perform an operational qualification for a system consisting of two 5890 GCs with 7673 autosamplers. We are using digital control of the GCs. I am trying to verify the qualification prior to installation. Based on the manual, it does not sound like the GCs must be physically connected to the data system to perform this software qualification, however whenever I start the OQ, Clarity just sits there waiting for the data acquisition to begin which it does not. Clarity is configured for the two GCs through RS232 as well as the autosamplers. Two questions:

1) Do I need to have the GCs connected through the RS232 cables to run the OQ?

2) If not, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance
Dan

Dear Dan,

to perform OQ (Operational qualification) follow the instructions in Validation Kit chapter 2.3. GCs do not need to be connected, you only need to add Virtual Detector to Clarity System Configuration and run OQ Validation Wizard. Then follow the instructions in the wizard to perform the qualification, it takes about 50 minutes and all neccessary folders, sequences, methods, etc. will be uploaded automatically.

If you need any more assisstance, do not hesitate to ask.
Best Regards,
