Hi there,

I have two HPLCs of the LC 20 line from Shimadzu that we try to control with Clarity. One has a CBM 20A and the other one has a CBM 20ALite. When I try to run both at the same time it turns out that the CBM 20A controls the instrument with the CBM 20ALite. When I take the CBM 20A off the clarity software the one with the 20ALite works fine. I am not able to download anything at all to the CBM 20A. So my question is can I not run both of them on the same computer? Is Clarity not able to run two digital controllers at the same time or am I missing a step in setting up the connection and software?
Thanks

Dear Kristin,
unfortunately, two Shimadzu LC-10/LC-20 systems cannot be run on the same computer using Clarity at the same time. This is caused by the MIMIC libraries programmed and distributed by Shimadzu used to control the system, which support the use of only one set at a time. I fear this will not change in the future, as Shimadzu already stopped work on MIMIC.

Please check our product webpage and Clarity manual for Shimadzu LC-10/20 system for control limitations.

Best Regards,
Daniel
