Dear Makarand,
problems during Clarity opening usually originate from corrupted system files - configuration (clarity.cfg) or desktop (clarity.dsk or *.dsk if users are specified).
The diagnostic files
c:\clarity\clarity.cfg
c:\clarity\clarity.dsk
c:\clarity\systeminfo.txt
c:\clarity\badtrace.txt and all *.dmp files if present
c:\clarity\log\ *.audit or *.log files for the days the problem appeared
will be helpfull to find out the source of the problem.
In case the problem appears immediately after Clarity start, the first attempt for remedy will be to replace the clarity.cfg file with empty one (on the installation CD in the EVAL subfolder, please note, that in some cases the Read Only attribute must be removed after copying from CD)) and configure the station again.
Alternatively, he could reinstall, eventually update the station to latest suitable version for his station and operation system.
To reinstall Clarity it is recommended to uninstall previous version using the Windows Start menu, Programs, Clarity program group, Remove Clarity command first (not necessary, however the IQ test may fail without this step). Clarity program files will be removed only, the system files and data will remain intact.
Start the installation (from CD or downloaded install.exe file) and confirm the default options. In this case answer No to the "Previous installation found, preserve configuration and .... " message, the system files will be replaced and the station will have to be reconfigured.
